As Adjunct Professor in Forest Resources Management at UBC Faculty of Forestry, KBF conducted a GIS Visualization Lab for FRST 424 students in 2015.

K.B. Fairhurst was given the responsibility for developing an initial version of the Forest Landscape Management Strategies for Alberta when he was with Alberta Energy and Natural Resources in 1985.
